You have chosen the person. Now you need the place, the light, the right ten minutes, and someone who makes sure nothing gets in the way.
I plan marriage proposals in south-eastern Sicily, in the Val di Noto: Noto, Modica, Ragusa and Scicli. I work with international couples, and with partners who are planning the surprise from far away.
What I do
I choose the setting with you. A terrace over Baroque rooftops, a quiet corner of Ragusa Ibla, a boat on the sea, a table in a courtyard. I look at the place at the hour you will be there, because the stone changes colour through the day.
I take care of the surprise. Timing, access, privacy, the way she or he will arrive, the way you will ask. Your partner sees the moment. I take care of everything behind it.
I build the day around it. Flowers, music, a private dinner, a wine tasting, a boat trip: the details that make it yours. Nothing standard.
I arrange the photographs. A photographer or videographer, placed where you won’t notice them, so you can be fully in the moment.
I coordinate on the ground. You can be thousands of kilometres away while someone local checks every detail. That is my job: reducing the risk, so you can concentrate on the question.
Why Sicily
The towns of the Val di Noto were rebuilt in the late Baroque style after the earthquake of 1693 and are inscribed by UNESCO. Honey-coloured stone, small streets, evening light. Scicli and Ragusa Ibla may look familiar if you have watched Inspector Montalbano. It is a setting that feels like a story before you even say a word.
From the proposal to the wedding
Many couples ask me what comes next. If the answer is yes, we can keep going: I organise international weddings as an extended weekend, with a welcome dinner, time to discover the territory, the wedding day and a farewell brunch. The proposal can be the first chapter of the same journey.
How it works
- You write to me with the dates you have in mind and a few words about your partner.
- We talk, in English or in Italian, and I suggest two or three settings.
- I build the plan and the schedule, and you approve every detail.
- On the day, I’m there, in the background.
